Frequently asked questions
How many grafts do I need for a receding hairline?
Slightly receding temples (stage 2) usually need 800 to 1,500 grafts, a clearly receding hairline (stage 3) 1,500 to 2,200 grafts.
How many hairs are in one graft?
A graft is a follicular unit with 1 to 4 hairs, about 2 to 2.5 on average. 2,000 grafts are therefore around 4,000 to 5,000 hairs.
How many grafts are possible in one session?
Depending on the clinic and donor area, 1,000 to 4,000 grafts. Reputable clinics split large cases into two sessions or several days.
How many grafts does the donor area have?
Over a lifetime, about 5,000 to 7,000 grafts can be safely taken from the back of the head. That is why careful planning matters.
